Area Sales Manager Opportunity

 

The Area Sales Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading, training, coaching, and mentoring sales teams across the Western region to achieve and surpass weekly sales targets. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this position requires seamless collaboration with various departments, including operations, marketing, and other key internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking an innovative Sales leader with a proven track record in successfully leading sales teams within the Residential Solar plus Storage renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will be located within the Western region, possess comprehensive experience in managing sales organizations for residential outreach, as well as fostering community relationships, engaging with stakeholders like HOAs, and facilitating connections with new residential construction ventures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, coach, and mentor sales teams across the Western region, consistently meeting and surpassing sales targets. The Western region is currently made up of Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, Apple Valley, Ventura, San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles County’s San Gabriel Valley area.
  • Train team members in the setter/closing sales model, community engagement techniques and assess performance through ride-alongs and role-playing exercises.
  • Develop weekly forecasts and monitor daily and weekly performance of the complete team and present data to the leadership team.
  • Implement best practices to drive the adoption of Electriq's "PoweredUp Network" offering across diverse markets within Electriq's operational scope.
  • Skillfully demonstrate the sales process, assist in developing offer strategies based on market realities, overcoming objections, and crafting solutions to secure sales.
  • Cultivate new sales channels to exceed sales objectives in the Western region.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and expertise in personal sales practices.



 

Qualifications:

  • Proven capability to execute on sales strategy and consistently deliver on sales goals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to inspire and guide individuals to realize their maximum potential.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation proficiencies.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and evenings.
  • Demonstrated ethos of “managing the process while growing the people.” As a leader you should be able to engage in needed fieldwork to hone the teams’ capabilities.
  • Exhibit initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Strong organizational and planning aptitude.
  • Travel up to 40% of the time within Western region.
 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous sales management experience in the Solar + Storage Residential market, building and/or overseeing a successful team of at least 10 to 15 members.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation are mandatory.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Electriq Power considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

 

Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package including annual bonus eligibility, short and long-term incentives, and a comprehensive and competitive benefits program which includes health insurance coverage, employee wellness, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, paid time off, and so much more.
